Mrs. Agatha Charles' 11th Grade History Class at Valley Charter School in California sent me the following suggested resources after using my web site for their group projects in a Women's Studies lesson. Thanks!
A) Jake- http://www.cwgl.rutgers.edu/globalcenter/additional.html
I wanted to do my project on how women are still being oppressed in other countries and struggling for their rights. I found this resource tools page to be very helpful in providing news articles, women's organizations, and campaigns for women's rights. I did not realize how much women are still going through not only in the United States, but in other countries. Some of these news articles really have opened my eyes.

Women have been fighting to have equal rights as men for a very long time. I wanted to focus my presentation on the suffrage movement and how it has affected our society today. I really liked this article as it discussed a brief timeline of how the movement began and major events that have happened along the way. I thought the additional resources on the page were a big help as well.
C) Jesse- http://utc.iath.virginia.edu/abolitn/wmhp.html
I wanted to focus my project on individuals who made a difference during the women's rights movement. I really liked this resource because it gave me more than just who was involved but what their views were. I wanted to know how these abolitionists went about in this movement and what they said to fight for their rights.
D) Garret-http://www.mbaonline.com/resources/online-guide-to-women-in-the-workforce-past-and-present/
Women have been apart of the workforce for hundreds of years. I wanted to write about how although women can now work along side men, they are still not considered equal. I found this interesting since women hold more buying power and are more likely to own their own business. I learned from this online guide that if more women opened up their own business it may help the economy. That is major considering the state the economy is in, and I think if it can help, it should be encouraged.

Our economy is struggling due to a variety of issues. I thought this article was very interesting in that it stated that economic growth is driven by women. That makes sense since more of the population is women. This article was a big eye opener and could be a small solution for our economy.

My mom has told me stories about my great grandma who was around during the women's rights movement. I always love hearing these stories about how strong and driven these women were. I wanted to make a presentation on the strength and diligence of women leaders, like those during the suffrage movement. I really liked this resource and its descriptions of the women and their passion to gain the right to vote.
G) BethAnn- http://www.create4theun.eu/discrimination-enforced-by-law-women's-struggle-around-the-world/
I wanted to learn about discrimination against women. I knew that there was some discrimination in the workplace, but I did not realize how intense it is in different parts of the world. I found this article to be informative and somewhat uplifting in that new laws are being developed in order to protect women. It just is hard to think that in some places around the world that those laws are not in place. (If the link doesn't work, Google "discrimination enforced by law" )
